I just felt like making a post to say that I have absolutely no idea what the proper response to the economic crisis is. My personal ideology is pushing me away from a bailout, but the supposed reality is pushing me towards it. Perhaps I’m just the victim of successful media scaremongering. In which case, well done media.
But on the one side you have people saying we could stand to make over a trillion dollars from this, and on the other hand you have people saying this could trigger a second Great Depression.
Either way, a deal has been reached. Thank goodness the new plan actually has oversight into how the money is spent. While it may cost more in the long run, doing anything with 700 billion without any oversight is pretty damn stupid. Also, thank goodness this bill passed without any pork in it. Plus, some of the things I was hearing were positively stupid.
So yah, /shrug, I got nothing. GG bailout? But seriously, when does Extreme Makeover: Home Edition – Forclosed Home Week start?
Update: Looks like even the compromise plan is having some trouble.
