So Rock Band 2 has finally been announced. Pretty sweet news, looks like they are making some good changes to it.
In 2007, Rock Band brought console gaming to a completely new level. No longer just for gamers, Rock Band made the fun available for the entire family. Dad rocking out on guitar, mom laying down a smooth bass groove, sister obliterating the drums, and grandma screaming her heart out on vocals. Not only did Rock Band change the face of gaming, but it changed the face of social gathering in general. The Rock Band party phenomenon swept the country, as people met for hours just to play and sing their favorite songs.
But not everything was perfect. We attended these various Rock Band parties and we learned one thing, more drums. Let’s be honest, playing on the guitar is just the way to bide your time till the drummer has to use the restroom. But all that is about to change.
We are proud to announce Rock Band 2: Drumming Legend due in stores Fall 2009. This is not your mommies Rock Band. We’ve taken guitars out completely, and have replaced them with the bongos and another set of drums.
New to Rock Band 2 is Drum Battle Mode. During this mode, you have the chance to take drumming to a completely new level. Each drummer is hoisted several feet in the air and spun in a circle as they battle each other for the honor of best drummer.
Also new to Rock Band 2 are the bongos. Now you can play your favorite song from the Gipsy Kings, Frank Zappa, or Crazy Dogzzz. Want to play a song without bongos? No worries, you can still play the song on Bongo Freestyle mode. Just go to town on those bongos. Every song needs a bongo solo, and don’t let any one tell you different.
Did I mention every instrument is completely wireless? Ka-kow! Start saving now kiddies, this $#% is going to be expensive.

Hmm, sounds interesting. That’ll be one I might need to play at someone else’s place before I make the investment. Plus I’m a little unsure about how the Bongo’s are going to fit in–if some starts going Bob Marley bongo free styling during a Metallica solo I think I would end their life. But we’ll see.
