DC vs Mortal Kombat. No, seriously.

Sneak Peak over at GameSpot. And without an M rating no less. That’s almost like releasing a Die Hard movie without an R rating, which, oh… right.
As far as the DC side goes, I honestly can’t think of who else they’d have in there besides Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern. While last year’s DC series 52 was very cool, it just goes to show how much of a 1-hit wonder DC has been with their super heroes. And I swear, Superman better not be in this. If you can kick Superman’s ass with Johnny Cage, then the world is worse off with this game in existence.
I’ll also miss the ultra violence of the early Mortal Kombat games. About a month ago some friends and I spent our evening drinking and watching Fatality compilations from YouTube and the nostalgia was top notch. Then again, I don’t think I’ve played a single Mortal Kombat game this millennium, and I’ll consider picking this one up, so maybe this is a good move for them.
Ultimately this lets them introduce both the Mortal Kombat world and the DC world to a younger audience that may not be that familiar with either. Though its hard to see where an M rating would hurt them. I played my first Mortal Kombat game when I was 11, and I’ve only ripped out other people’s spines once or twice.
And for the record, I liked Die Hard IV. ![]()
